‘Aranda Tribe Ride for Pride’ on eight-day journey

Ntaria School students are in the midst of an eight-day horseback journey which will conclude at the Alice Springs ANZAC Parade on Monday 25 April, 2016.

The 127 kilometre ‘Aranda Tribe Ride for Pride’ from Hermannsburg to Alice Springs sees students acknowledge the role of Indigenous people enlisted in the Light Horse Infantry during the First World War.

‘Aranda Tribe Ride for Pride’ celebrates Indigenous servicemen past and present and gives students a hands-on historic learning adventure with the aim of promoting their sense of pride and self-worth.

The ride contributes to their learning and assessment for Vocational Education and Training pathways in Rural Operations, Agriculture and Tourism.

Ntaria School has received a three-year funding agreement from the Commonwealth for the ride.
