The worker and Wellbeing fund is here to help

Published

To support Territorians during these uncertain economic times a $5 million Worker and Wellbeing Fund has been established for Territory workers. The fund will complement Northern Territory and Australian Government funding initiatives with an aim to help fill new and emerging gaps.

The fund will focus on local Territorian workers who are not eligible for Centrelink benefits and are experiencing unemployment, reduced income or are otherwise affected within the workplace by COVID-19.

The Fund will help local workers connect with the right support by:

  • helping people access the right counselling support services that are available
  • helping people access income and other financial support available
  • supporting workers who have lost their job find new employment opportunities
  • helping Territorians who need access to accommodation and other essentials

Organisations that provide services in the areas of financial counselling services, relationship counselling services, emergency material support, general wellbeing support and peer support may be eligible to receive funding to continue or expand these services.
