First Circles Leadership Program

The First Circles Leadership Program supports emerging Aboriginal leaders from across remote communities and has up to 16 members.

First Circles' members meet with Cabinet to discuss solutions and opportunities for government to work with remote communities on a range of projects. The members work together with their communities to build their skills to be the next generation of community leaders.

The program will support members to tap into existing NT Government grant funding to benefit their community and leadership aspirations.

Expressions of interest open

First Circles identifies, mentors and supports the next generation of Aboriginal leaders, targeting remote communities.

Eight Aboriginal leaders from the southern region and eight people from the northern region of the Northern Territory are selected each year to join the First Circles Leadership program.

Members have the opportunity to talk directly with Northern Territory Ministers and Cabinet members about government policies and programs impacting them and their communities.

First Circles’ members are mentored and supported through community visits and workshops concluding with a special Cabinet Meeting.

You are able to nominate yourself or someone you know.
