The Northern Territory Government has announced a $6.25 million redevelopment of the Pat Gallagher Netball Centre which will include four new, fully sprung courts in an enclosed stadium.
The facility was jointly funded by the NT Government ($4.25 million), Alice Springs Town Council ($1.5 million) and local businessman, Tony Smith of NT Link Transportable Buildings, who contributed $500,000
The tender for development was advertised on 21 January with Scope Building NT announced as the successful tenderer.
The new facility is expected to be completed in time for the Alice Springs Masters Games in October 2016.
Alice Springs Netball Association President Robyn Donnelly has welcomed the redevelopment and said the future was now secure for local netballers.
