Welcome Jeanette Kerr - new Assistant Commissioner

Ms Jeanette Kerr has taken up the role of Assistant Commissioner for the regional and remote areas outside of the Darwin Region.

Assistant Commissioner Kerr has had a distinguished 28-year career with the Northern Territory Police having served in Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs and Darwin in a range of operational, criminal investigation and public safety roles.

Career highlights include implementing a major reform program at the PFES College and serving as the NT Police Negotiation Coordinator and as Assistant Training Adviser (Negotiation) to the National Counter Terrorism Committee.

Assistant Commissioner Kerr is excited to have made the move from Darwin to Alice Springs and looks forward to engaging with the community, as well as working towards reducing domestic violence, further developing multi-agency approaches to community issues and reducing the road toll.
