Pete Murray to headline Territory Day 2017

One of Australia’s most loved musicians, Pete Murray, will headline the Territory Day concert at Mindil Beach. Supporting Pete Murray will be Aussie rock pop sensations, Killing Heidi, along with Triple J unearthed winner, Resin Moon, and young Territory artist, Isaac Smalley.

Territory Day is a significant celebration for all Territorians. This year will mark the 39th anniversary of self-governance and in addition to the celebrations it’s a great opportunity to reflect on the people, places and achievements of Territorians.

The Northern Territory Government is also supporting free, family-friendly events in 14 other locations across the Territory on July 1st.

This includes a large-scale community performance in Katherine, Katherine Tales – Tall, Twisted and True, which tells the story of Territory Day through music, comedy and satire. The event is presented in association with Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre and Katherine Town Council.

A competition called IamTerritorian is also being held to find the best and most creative photo that showcases what it means to be Territorian. The winner will receive an iPad Mini, and there are heaps of bonus prizes up for grabs.

More details on how to enter and the terms and conditions of the competition are available at the Territory Day website www.territoryday.nt.gov.au or on Facebook
